The 10th Morning Star Awards Chinese Original Science Fiction Literature Contests has come to a perfect conclusion

From June 6th to 8th, 2025, the 10th Morning Star Awards Chinese Original Science Fiction Contests, sponsored by Shenzhen Creative Route Culture Development Co., Ltd. and Jinzhong Information College, organized by Shenzhen Ether Science Fiction Creative Development Center and Taikoo Science Fiction College, co organized by the Communist Youth League Jinzhong Information College Committee, Xinghua Academy, Art and Media College, Big Health College, Cloud Script Kill College, Competitive Sports Center, and Camp Education Center, and supported by the Shenzhen Social Welfare Foundation • Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation, was successfully held at Jinzhong Information College for the first time outside of Shenzhen. This event revolves around the "Golden Age" and features a variety of campus cultural activities such as science fiction lectures, writer forums, celebrity interviews, art exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage markets, book signings, and garden parties.
On June 7th at 19:00, the 10th Morning Star Awards Chinese Original Science Fiction Literature Contests Ceremony was held at the Wumahe Theater of the school. Mr. Wang Jinkang, a leading figure in the Chinese science fiction industry, Jiang Bo, the original author of the science fiction film "Soul Hunting", Baoshu, a representative writer of the Chinese science fiction 80s generation, chief writer of Chongqing Yitong Fishing City Science Fiction Academy, Ah Que, a representative writer of the 90s generation, Lazi, editor in chief of the Chinese science fiction core journal "Science Fiction World" magazine, editor in chief of the Hugo Award winning work "Time and Space Painter", Yang Feng, CEO of Baguangfen Culture, Zhang Translation, CEO of Micro Image Culture, Sun Yue, founder of the official peripheral publisher of "Wandering Earth", and other guests gathered on the banks of the Wumahe River with leaders and representatives of teachers and students from Jinzhong Information The radiance of the Morning Star will last for about ten years. The award ceremony was hosted by Wang Haidong from Shenzhen TV. Liu Cixin, Vice Chairman of Shanxi Writers Association, author of novels such as "The Three Body Problem" and "The Wandering Earth", and science fiction writer, sent a message via video.
Liu Zhengguo, Executive Vice President of Jinzhong Information College, delivered a speech at the award ceremony of the "Morning Star Awards" Science Fiction Contests. He expressed his deep honor for the first time in ten years that the "Morning Star Awards" has left Shenzhen and come to Shanxi to be held at Jinzhong Information College. On behalf of the school, he thanked the guests for their support and congratulated the soon to be announced winners. Liu Zhengguo mentioned that the original intention of establishing the Taikoo Science Fiction Academy was to cultivate students' imagination through science fiction. Currently, the school has offered a course on "Science Fiction and Imagination" to all students, and hopes to use this method to shape the future happiness and full life of young students.

During the award ceremony, Ms. Zhang Yichuan, CEO of Weixiang Culture, and Ms. Wang Nuonuo, a young science fiction writer who won the Galaxy Award and Hundred Flowers Literature Award, presented the Best Short Science Fiction Story Award to the author Xinfeng Xike; Mr. Raz, the editor in chief of the Chinese science fiction core journal "Science Fiction World" magazine, and Mr. Jiang Bo, a science fiction writer who has won the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award seven times and the Global Chinese Nebula Award four times, presented the Best Medium length Science Fiction Novel Award to author Wu Hong. Ms. Yang Feng, a renowned publisher, editor in chief of "The Edge of the Galaxy", founder of the Eight Lights Culture, and winner of the Galaxy Award and Nebula Award, as well as Hugo Award nominated author Mr. Baoshu, presented the Best Children's Science Fiction Novel award to the author in a blue shirt. Mr. Zhang Guoquan, Executive Director of the Guangdong Science Popularization Writers Association and Chairman of the Science Fiction Special Committee, and Mr. Sanfeng, Director and Chief Researcher of the Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation and Director of the China Science Popularization Writers Association, presented the Long Science Fiction Work Creation Support Award to Ding Tianran, the author of "The World of Artifacts" and "The Return of Mazu in the Starry Sea". Mr. Wang Jinkang, a leading figure in Chinese science fiction literature, and Mr. Ma Guobin, the initiator and chairman of the Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation and the deputy director and secretary-general of the Guangdong Science Popularization Writers Association, presented the Best Novel Award to author Ma Chuansi.
Finally, Mr. Ma Guobin, initiator and chairman of the Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation, deputy director and secretary general of the Science Fiction Committee of the Guangdong Science Popularization Writers Association, summarized the development process of Morningstar over the past decade. He stated that the achievements of the Fund and Morningstar over the past decade can be summarized in one sentence: strive to spread science fiction culture, no matter what method is used. The fund uses imagination to explore this field without definition, standards, or precedent. Only a group of like-minded people and immature thinking, through cross-border organizational genes and exciting long-term visions, as well as continuous innovation, have led it to where it is now. After thanking the initiators, board of directors, colleagues, and friends who have supported the growth of the fund, Mr. Ma Guobin presented the Best Organizational Unit Award to Swire Science Fiction Academy; Zhang Ran, Dean of the Taikoo Science Fiction School at Jinzhong Information College and initiator of the Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation, subsequently summarized the ten-year development of the fund and the four-year growth experience of the Taikoo Science Fiction School, and made earnest expectations for the future development of science fiction.
