The 3rd Morning Star Awards  Science Fiction Art Contests Ceremony!

On the evening of November 24th, the award ceremony of the 2018 Third Morning Star Awards  Chinese Original Science Fiction Art Contests, funded by the Special Fund for the Development of Propaganda, Culture and Sports in Futian District, was held in Shenzhen. An Hui's "Children in Time" won the Best Fantasy Art Illustration/Poster Award at this competition.

This competition is initiated by the Science & Fantasy Growth Foundation, jointly organized by the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, the Futian District Bureau of Culture and Sports, and the Office of the Shenzhen Reading Month Organizing Committee. It is co organized by the Shenzhen Reading Federation and Haitian Publishing House, with exclusive video support from AcFun Danmu Video Network. The 89th Oskar Special Contribution Award winner, "Blood and Sand," is led by Ford Hu, the artistic and technical director of Industrial Light and Magic Art in the United States, Jax Lee, the animation technical director, renowned CG artist and conceptual designer Xiao Zhuangyue, well-known writer Seven Years, Chinese CG film and video game leader Xiao Yong, general manager of Global Digital Media Technology Co., Ltd., general manager Xu Yifan of Kuroshio Interactive Entertainment Co., Ltd., and Chinese stage visual effects pioneer Shuhu. Tang Tao, General Manager of Image Technology Co., Ltd., and Tao Kai, Chief Director of Visual Effects Art, attended the event and presented awards.

Xiao Mei, the general manager of the competition, stated that the Morning Star Awards  Science Fiction Art Contests integrates cutting-edge talents in Chinese science fiction art from both domestic and international sources, providing the best platform for young Chinese science fiction art creators to showcase their work. In 2018, the Morning Star Science Fiction Art Exhibition, jointly planned by Xiao Mei, the founder of Science Fiction Works, and Xiao Lama, the representative of the Science Fiction Foundation in France, received a very good response in France. In the future, it will continue to support Chinese science fiction art creators to exhibit in Europe for ten consecutive years. The award-winning works of the Morning Star Awards were also warmly welcomed by the citizens when they were exhibited at the Central Bookstore.
