The public welfare classroom of sci-fi imagination has entered Ziyuan County, Guangxi, enabling children in mountainous areas to pursue their sci-fi dreams

On November 28th, the "Science Fiction Imagination Public Welfare Program," hosted by the Shenzhen Social Welfare Foundation's SCIENCE & FANTASY GROWTH FOUNDATION (hereinafter referred to as the "Science Fiction Fund"), was successfully held at the No. 1 Primary School and Experimental Middle School in Ziyuan County, Guangxi. At the same time, an exhibition of Chinese and foreign science fiction paintings was presented to the students.
Young science fiction writer Lu Hang, AI expert Ma Yuepeng, and mentor in the field of artificial intelligence Wei Honghua were invited as keynote speakers, bringing a wonderful journey of science fiction and technology to nearly 400 students. Wei Tingting, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy County Mayor of Ziyuan County on secondment, Liu Zhuman, Director of the Audio-Visual Education Station of the County Education Bureau, Lei Ming, Principal of Ziyuan County No.1 Primary School, Tang Qiying, Vice Principal of Ziyuan Experimental Middle School, and Ma Guobin, Director of the Science Fiction Fund, all attended the event.
At the beginning of the event, Wei Tingting, member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and Deputy County Mayor, delivered an ebullient speech. She pointed out that science fiction has a natural advantage in cultivating curiosity and imagination. Science fiction education can nurture young people's curiosity, stimulate their imagination, cultivate their innovative ability and critical thinking, and ultimately serve the development of students' core competencies.
In his speech, Ma Guobin, the chairman of the Science Fiction Fund, stated that science fiction is a precursor to technology, and the fund has been committed to promoting science fiction culture. He hoped to sow the seeds of "science fiction imagination" in the No. 1 Primary School of Ziyuan County, which has a long history of 260 years, and inspire the students' imagination and creativity in the future.
Afterwards, Mr. Ma Guobin, the Science Fiction Foundation, presented a batch of science fiction books and programming robots to the school. Principal Lei expressed that science fiction has indeed sparked students' imagination and creativity, and in the future, more students will be encouraged to participate in science fiction activities.
At today's event, the young science fiction writer, under the theme of "The Science Fiction Perspective on Traditional Culture", shared his journey from a science fiction enthusiast to a science fiction creator, encouraging children to pick up their pens and engage in science fiction creation through observing the finer details of life.
Ma Yuepeng, the Director-General of the Science Fiction Foundation and an expert of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Expert Committee, shared with the students the history of AI development, its working principles and modes, as well as the latest trends in AI development both domestically and internationally, under the title "Artificial Intelligence Ushers in a New Generation of Technology". This allowed the students to deeply perceive how to cope with the era of AI from a human perspective.
The atmosphere at the course was lively, with students actively interacting and eagerly asking questions. The lecturers patiently answered each of the students' questions and encouraged them to continue studying science fiction, broaden their horizons, and be innovative.
